COACHELLA 2017: ALL THE BEST FROM WEEK END ONE

Coachella first week end is over and while I am heading back to Europe after an incredible holiday in California, I can’t help myself but sharing with you all my trip highlights and best discovers, from L.A. to the Festival through Joshua Tree and Pioneer Town. #traveldiary, #travelinstyle

No doubt this Festival is worth travelling even from Europe: this was my third Coachella  (see more TDC Coachella here) and despite judgmental rumors about the Festival becoming more commercial, it seemed to me that it’s not only keeping its high standards in terms of music, entertainment and massive production, but also generating very interesting and curated cultural events like Desert X, Bombay Beach Biennale and a serie of independent concerts in the area of Coachella and Yucca Valley.

The atmosphere you breathe while walking in the Empire Polo surrounded by palm trees, art installations, bohemians, artists, festival-goers, singers, models and all the best you can imagine from California, it’s hard to describe unless you’ve experienced it for yourself.

And when it comes to style, Coachella sets the benchmark for the festival season yet to come revealing the last street style tendencies for hair, make-up and rock-boho-chic fashion.

In other words a little piece of heaven to leave the stress behind, dress up and hold on to just one thought: DANCE!

While interviewing families with children about their experience in Coachella I met Davey Havok’s wife (Dreamcar) for the first time in Coachella with kids.

Here’s my highlights and best musical discoveries:

From Day 1: Kangstof, Capital Cities, BANKS, EMPIRE OF THE SUN (my favorite concert of the day over Radiohead), Radiohead

From Day 2: Local Natives, Kaleo, Dream Car, BON IVER, LADY GAGA (I absolutely adored her show and her new song “The Cure” especially released for Coachella).

From Day 3: Hans Zimmer (if you’re not familiar with his name he’s another Ennio Morricone, the composer of famous film tracks like The Gladiator, so impressive to see him in concert in the desert with his whole orchestra), Justice, Lorde, Kendrick Lamare.

A special thanks to Andrew and Sybil Haagen, for their hospitality, to Steven Arturo, Mimi & Jason, all the L.A. Family, to Giorgia, Giovanni, Carmen, Jota, Pablo and Miryam (it really hasn’t been the same without you) for their friendship, to Mestieri Lab, Imemoi, Ldy Bg, Caterina Zangrando and Anna Kiss for choosing me as their brand ambassador for Coachella 2017.
